The YMCA of Greensburg is an organization that strives to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Our areas of focus include Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. We strive to develop youth through our program departments including aquatics, child development, gymnastics, and sports. We have been impacting the Greensburg Community for over 155 years and will continue to do so through our mission work.

The YMCA of Greensburg is looking for fun, energetic, enthusiastic Summer Camp Counselors to serve their community this summer. Ideal candidates are team players, communicate effectively with parents, campers, and peers, and have patience, and creativity.

Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of activities for campers.
  • Acting as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times.
  • Being responsible for the safety of the children at all times, including being able to implement emergency procedures as necessary.
  • Maintaining supervision during summer field trips.

Summer Camp is held at the Greensburg-Salem Middle School.

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
  • Must have one of the following:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or the human services field;
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education;
    • Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Elementary Education, Special Education, or the human services field and 2 years of experience with children.
  • Must be able to provide or acquire state criminal (Act 33), child abuse (Act 34), FBI, and sex offender registry clearances.
  • Must provide physical exam and TB test completed within the last 12 month of hire.
  • Must provide two letters of recommendation.
