Position Overview

As our HVAC Maintenance & Service Specialist, you will be the premier technical expert troubleshooting and optimizing systems in residential environments. Your day-to-day will involve evaluating system safety, diagnosing complex heating and cooling issues, and performing precision repairs. Beyond the technical work, you will guide homeowners toward smart, confident buying decisions by delivering 5-STAR customer service on every single call.

Scheduling Note: This role requires participation in an on-call rotation to support our emergency client needs, plus regular overtime opportunities.

Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct meticulous diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and safety inspections on residential HVAC systems.

  • Communicate technical issues and profitable repair options clearly to customers, building trust and lasting relationships.

  • Complete all approved service calls cleanly and safely, taking extreme care to protect the customer’s property and home.

  • Collaborate with management to implement best practices and uphold the premium service standard of the Master Plumbers brand.

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications
  • Technical Proficiency: Experienced with low-voltage wiring, furnace/air handler components, and air conditioner mechanics.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills with the ability to explain complex HVAC concepts to homeowners.

  • Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

  • Preferred Assets: Any active NATE, EPA, or related mechanical and air conditioning certifications.

Physical Demands & Environment
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, and maneuver up to 100 lbs repeatedly throughout the workday.

  • Comfort working in tight, dark, or confined spaces (such as crawlspaces, basements, and attics).

  • Ability to climb ladders, step stools, and stand or sit for prolonged periods.

  • Flexibility to work in a wide range of indoor and outdoor seasonal temperatures.

  • Daily local travel up to 75% of the time between dispatch locations and client homes.
