Job description

Spira Manufacturing is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician 2 (Seasonal) who will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the production process, ensuring the safe, efficient, and accurate production of high-quality products.
This is a 3-month seasonal assignment with the potential for full-time employment following the completion of the contract period, based on performance and business needs.

Job Accountabilities:
  • Perform station and machine setups as requested.
  • Perform production processes as outlined in written company procedures and/or as instructed by supervisor.
  • Operate and safely use equipment including, but not limited to, table saws, grinders, drill presses, presses, injection curing ovens.
  • Cut, shape, trim, and deburr materials and components to required specifications.
  • Utilize adhesives and bonding materials in accordance with manufacturing procedures and safety requirements.
  • Perform identification marking of parts and assemblies using stamps and hammers.
  • Load and unload parts into presses and ovens for bonding and curing operations.
  • Inspect materials and completed work for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications.
  • Accurately complete production work travelers and related production documentation.
  • Follow safety rules as written in the Safety Manual and discussed in Safety Meetings, including proper use of PPE and respirators.
  • Use manufacturing computer systems for timekeeping and project tracking.
  • Maintain clean and organized workstations and ensure tools/equipment are properly maintained and accounted for.
  • Perform daily cleanup and housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Support team production goals and perform other duties as requested.

Job Specifications:
Education: HS Diploma/GED equivalent or a combination of equivalent relevant work experience required.
Years of Experience: 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
Skills:
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Experience working with hand tools and manufacturing equipment such as table saws, grinders, drill presses, presses, and ovens preferred.
  • Ability to safely handle adhesives, bonding materials, and curing processes.
  • Ability to work while wearing a respirator and required safety PPE to minimize exposure to chemicals and airborne particles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions, travelers, and production procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to operate and maintain production machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and production tracking.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbsand stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistent quality and attention to detail.
