Job description
Digital Storytelling Producer, Radio
Denver, CO
Rocky Mountain Public Media, Inc. (RMPM) is the parent company of Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO Jazz, and The DROP 104.7. Over a million Coloradans turn to Rocky Mountain PBS, KUVO Jazz, and The DROP to discover provocative and inspiring local, national, and international programming; find diverse viewpoints; score front row center seats to world-class performances; and experience lifelong learning opportunities every month.
The Digital Storytelling Producer serves as the primary creative lead for KUVO and THE DROP's digital storytelling across social media platforms. The role exercises independent judgment in conceptualizing, creating, producing, and publishing original multimedia content that advances the organization's mission, strengthens audience relationships, and reflects the unique voice of each brand. The position applies creativity, originality, and professional editorial discretion to translate broadcast journalism, music, arts, and community storytelling into compelling digital experiences.
The producer also assists with producing the KUVO Jazz morning show, including community affairs and arts and culture content, while maintaining overall standards and practices of news, public affairs and production operations.

- Determine editorial priorities for digital publishing based upon audience interests, community relevance, and organizational goals.
- Independently determine appropriate storytelling formats across social platforms.
- Create original digital campaigns that extend broadcast journalism into social-first experiences.
- Track audience data on social media, analyzing dashboards, creating monthly reports in partnership with the digital transformation team. Operate with a data mindset, utilizing qualitative and quantitative metrics to inform and refine our content development and reach.
- Monitor social media conversations and respond to comments or messages.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive content calendar that aligns social media publishing with programming highlights, pledge drives, community events, and seasonal moments for both KUVO and THE DROP 104.7.
- Increase audience conversion from social platforms to owned digital channels.
- Partner on broader organization initiatives that support audience development, events and membership objectives.
- Define and uphold distinct brand voices and visual identities for KUVO and THE DROP 104.7 across all platforms, ensuring consistency and clear differentiation between the two brands.
- Monitor emerging social media platforms, content formats, and industry trends; recommend and pilot new strategies to grow audience reach and deepen listener engagement.
COMMUNITY PRODUCER (~35%)
- Independently identify, develop, and produce digital storytelling opportunities arising from KUVO and THE DROP programming, including arranging live and recorded audio and video interviews with local and national musicians and artists, newsmakers and community leaders, as well as other interesting community affairs personalities. The producer brings timely topic ideas to the table - city stories, events, public service topics, and concert reviews.
- Support THE DROP 104.7 and KUVO morning show hosts in scheduling interviews, prepping interview questions, and managing logistics.
- Capture content with other show hosts, translate broadcast interviews and host moments to social media channels and web stories creatively.
- Pitch topic ideas, research topics, schedule guests for background, interviews and features.
- Assistance in writing, editing, conducting research and collaborating with hosts to create original written, audio and video content for website and social media.
- Collects documentation for FCC Quarterly Reports when due.
- Collaborates with Digital Transformation, Content, Membership, and Community Engagement teams to identify audience needs and develop content experiences that deepen engagement and belonging.
