Job description

GOLF RANGER/OUTSIDE SERVICE, SEASONAL
The Kenosha County Division of Golf is accepting applications for seasonal Ranger/Outside Service positions at our two golf courses, Brighton Dale Links and Petrifying Springs. We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic, and hardworking individuals to perform general golf course related duties. Candidates must be passionate about providing exceptional customer service to help provide world class playing experiences for our guests.
2026 Pay Range: $10.00 - $15.00 per hour
Hiring Bonus
A Kenosha County seasonal Golf candidate who is successfully hired and employed for at least 30 days shall be awarded a $200.00 bonus to their paycheck.
WORK SCHEDULE
  • Seasonal employees generally work from March through October
  • Start dates will vary depending on weather and golf course conditions
  • Golf course hours of operation are typically dawn to dusk (6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. depending on the season)
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists customers and guests in golf-related areas
  • Provides information about services offered at golf course, including special promotions
  • Monitors pace of play on golf course
  • Monitors player activity and any carry-on beverages on golf course property
  • Sets up for golf outings
  • Picks up and properly disposes of debris and trash around building and in parking areas
  • Maintains practice range
  • Washes, fills, and operates motorized golf carts
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS, EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
  • Ranger - must be at least 18 years old at time of application
  • Outside Service - must be at least 15 years old at time of application
  • Must possess a valid driver's license at time of hire and maintain during incumbency, with acceptable driving record

SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Knowledge of the game of golf, golf equipment, and the desire to work in the golf industry
  • Skill in communicating effectively with guests and co-workers
  • Skill in basic usage of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions
  • Ability to observe and recognize safety precautions
  • Ability to perform a variety of general labor tasks
  • Ability to operate golf cart, power washer, and hand-held radio
  • Ability to clean inside and outside of clubhouse
  • Ability to work respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Seasonal employees are automatically enrolled in this program if they do not meet eligibility criteria for the Wisconsin Retirement System (pension). The FICA Alternative plan replaces the payment of FICA tax and instead contributes a percentage of pre-tax wages into an investment account for the benefit of the employee.
