Aramark is seeking a skilled and motivated Seasonal Stables Manager to oversee the daily operations of our horse stables in Yosemite National Park. The Stables Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of the horses, staff, and guests, while delivering exceptional guest services and maintaining compliance with Aramark policies and National Park Service standards. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about equine care, team development, and creating memorable guest experiences in the great outdoors. 

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $70,304 - $75,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

Operations & Animal Care:

  • Manage day-to-day stable operations including feeding, grooming, turnout, medical care, and maintenance.
  • Ensure the humane and ethical treatment of all horses, following best practices and animal welfare
    guidelines.
  • Develop and enforce daily routines for horse health checks, exercise schedules, and rest periods.
  • Maintain detailed records of horse health, vaccinations, shoeing, and training.
  • Team Leadership & Staff Development:
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise stable hands, trail guides, and wranglers.
  • Provide ongoing coaching on horsemanship, safety, guest service, and environmental responsibility.
  • Ensure staff compliance with Aramark’s safety standards and Yosemite National Park regulations.
  • Guest Services & Trail Rides:
  • Coordinate and manage horseback riding tours, pony rides, and special equestrian events.
  • Foster a welcoming, friendly environment for all guests, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Address guest inquiries, feedback, and safety concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Facility & Equipment Maintenance:
  • Oversee cleanliness, functionality, and safety of stables, paddocks, barns, tack rooms, and trails.
  • Regularly inspect and maintain all riding equipment and tack, ensuring safe usage.
  • Coordinate facility repairs and equipment procurement within budget guidelines

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage stable budgets, supplies, feed, and staffing needs.
  • Prepare operational reports, incident reports, and inventory records in line with Aramark procedures.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians, farriers, and park officials as needed.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-5 years stable management or equine care experience, preferably in a hospitality or guest service setting.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring staff.
  • Strong knowledge of horse care, safety, and stable management.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding outdoor environment.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred; Wilderness First Aid a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license required; experience operating farm equipment or trailers is desirable.
  • Familiarity with National Park Service policies and environmental stewardship principles is a bonus.
