TITLE: Security Guard
CLASSIFICATION: Technology Department - Classified Hourly Salary Schedule
REPORTS TO: Technology Supervisor
SUMMARY: As a member of the District Technology staff, the security guard will provide security monitoring to all District facilities during non-working hours and weekends.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Report unlawful or suspicious activities to the police.
2. Monitor District Office including maintenance yard, bus yard, parking lot, and technology center.
3. Monitor the visitor, reserved, car pool, and special parking spaces.
4. Monitor security cameras.
5. Attend in-service meetings
6. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Security training and experience preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Security training and experience preferred.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
• Ability to make good decisions.
• A general command of English is required to read and interpret routine information such as work schedules, memos, and to communicate with employees.
• Knowledge of safety procedures.
WORKING CONDITIONS: The working environment is generally an office setting with some work outside in all types of weather and includes working in conditions that include poor lighting, dust, dirt and seasonal high temperatures.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year, Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of classified staff.
