Job description

The Role

The Head of Operations & Product will lead the day-to-day operations of Mrs. Fields, integrating product innovation, supply chain, merchandising, and financial management. This executive will ensure that premium quality standards are met across all e-commerce and sales channels, while driving EBITDA growth and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

Product Development & Merchandising

• Product Strategy: Leading research and development for new product lines (baked goods, gift items) and seasonal, high-margin, or limited-time offerings.

• Quality Assurance: Maintain strict compliance with Mrs. Fields’ brand standards, product recipes, and food safety regulations.

• Merchandising & Packaging: Develop product presentation strategies for online channels, ensuring high-quality, appealing packaging that drives customer engagement.

• Menu Engineering: Analyze product performance to optimize menu offerings and maximize profitability.

Supply Chain & Operations

• End-to-End Logistics: Manage the full supply chain, including sourcing, manufacturing, warehousing, and transportation.

• Supplier Relations: Negotiate contracts with key suppliers to ensure cost reduction, supplier reliability, and material availability.

• Operational Excellence: Oversee and streamline fulfillment, reduce complexity and improve processes.

Finance & Accounting

• Profit & Loss (P&L) Management: Assume accountability for the overall P&L, focusing on expanding EBITDA and driving revenue growth.

• Budgeting & Forecasting: Oversee operating budgets, capital investments, and expenses to ensure alignment with corporate goals.

• Cost Optimization: Implement cost-saving initiatives in sourcing and operations without sacrificing product quality.

• Performance Analytics: Establish KPIs to measure operational success, product performance, and financial goals.

Qualifications & Skills

• 6+ years of progressive operations or supply chain experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Deep expertise in e-commerce and DTC business models, including performance marketing, digital merchandising, and platform operations.

• Strong analytical and financial acumen; comfortable owning P&L components and presenting to board-level audiences.

• Proven ability to lead through change and inspire teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

• Experience in the gifting, seasonal, or specialty food categories.

• Familiarity with marketplace channel dynamics.

• Background in brand turnaround, digital transformation, or growth-stage scaling.

• MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
