Job Title: Social Content Writer Location-Type: Remote (weekly check-in meeting required) Start Date: Mid-August Duration: Ongoing Contract (approximately 50 hours/month) Compensation Range: $25-30/hr W2 Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description: This role supports a client-facing social media program by creating engaging, industry-specific content that keeps utility and construction professional communities connected between major conferences. Job Summary •Write a few social media posts per week across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, covering topics such as crew spotlights, industry pride, and seasonal/holiday content. •Collaborate closely with an art director to align copy, headlines, image text, and visual concepts into cohesive, on-brand posts. •Develop conceptual and creative content ideas, ranging from quick celebratory posts to more thoughtful feature-style pieces highlighting crew achievements. •Draft video scripts and supporting copy for crew-of-the-month features and similar spotlight content. •Create and organize all content in Google Docs and deliver final copy to the team prior to posting. •Apply versioning practices and adapt content formats as needed, including potential stories and short-form clip support. •Self-manage deadlines and workflow with minimal oversight, flagging questions proactively to the art director and client team. Minimum Requirements: •Demonstrated experience writing social media copy for professional or trade audiences, with a portfolio showing full posts created in partnership with a creative or art direction team. •Ability to write visually, including strong headlines, image copy, and captions that complement design concepts. •Strong attention to detail, particularly around industry-specific terminology and visual accuracy (e.g., safety compliance in imagery). •Highly organized self-starter who can manage a recurring posting schedule and meet deadlines consistently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications: •Familiarity with the utility, construction, or skilled trades industries, or a demonstrated ability to quickly learn and write authentically within a specialized space. •Experience writing video scripts or producing short-form narrative content for social platforms. •Comfort working across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn with an understanding of how tone and format vary by platform. •Experience with versioning content and adapting a single concept across multiple formats or audiences.
