Job description

Seastreak, and its expanding fleet of High-Speed State of The Art Catamaran ferries, operates seasonally out of New Bedford with services to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket. If you are a friendly, energetic, and dependable person than we have the job for you! We are seeking seasonal Customer Service Representatives.

Employment will be from April through October.

Primary Responsibilities:

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first person our valued customers speak to and interact with. Responsibilities include:

  • Answering phones
  • Selling tickets and making reservations by phone and in person, using an online booking system
  • Scanning tickets as passengers board when needed
  • Responding to customer questions and inquiries
  • Organizing passenger lines and luggage carts when needed
  • Making sure freight items are loaded onto the vessel

Skills and Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Experience in customer service (preferred)
  • Weekend and Holiday availability
  • Employees must have their own island housing, or be able to commute from Woods Hole, MA
  • Be able to follow directions and carry out instructions with ease.
  • Be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
  • Be able to understand cash handling procedures.
  • Ability to learn and successfully navigate an online reservation system.
  • Can provide the highest level of customer service and professionalism to all passengers.
  • Willingness to familiarize oneself with Seastreak’s current offerings and schedules to best assist customer.
  • Must be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) after being hired. Certain felonies may exclude you from obtaining one.
