POSITION OVERVIEW

Security Officers provide mobile patrol and rapid response to suspicious or criminal activity and safety hazards. Security Officers shall wear an appropriate seasonal uniform, perform the following tasks, and have the following qualifications:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Security Officers provide mobile patrol and rapid response to suspicious or criminal activity and safety hazards. Security Officers shall wear an appropriate seasonal uniform, perform the following tasks, and have the following qualifications:
  • Perform highly visible, alert and vigilant mobile patrol and/or static security functions
  • Observe for suspicious or criminal behavior on or around the Properties and deter criminal targeting of Client' assets through visible presence and field contacts
  • Rapidly respond to dispatch calls(including, without limitation, requests from Clients' security operations centers) to investigate, mitigate, preempt or stop criminal acts, in accordance with applicable security officer authorities granted to them by local, state, and federal law,utilizing sound tactical and lawful decision making, to include proper use of a force continuum and adherence to the Use of Force Directive
  • Prevent, intercept, and remove unauthorized persons observed attempting to gain, gaining, or who have gained unauthorized access to any Properties, in accordance with applicable security officer authorities granted to them by local, state, and federal law, utilizing sound tactical and lawful decision making, to include proper use of a force continuum and adherence to the Use of Force Directive
  • Protect all persons from physical assault, harassment, and/or intimidationat designated Properties, in accordance with applicable security officer authorities granted to them by local, state, and federal law, utilizing sound tactical and lawful decision making, to include proper use of a force continuum and adherence to the Use of Force Directive
  • Assist with medical or other emergencyconditions
  • Report security concerns, incidents, suspicious activity, and crimes immediately to Clients' representatives and/ or emergency services personnel such as police and fire departments
  • Meet and deal tactfully and politely with the public and visitors, and effectively and efficiently screen and process visitors as required
  • Respond to Client personnel in a timely, effective and professional manner
  • Respond to the scene of crimes and emergencies to assist in crime scene management and investigation; collecting details of the incident, including photos, evidentiary, and suspect information; containing and securing crime scenes; and protecting sensitive evidentiary information
  • Enforce Clients' access and property control policies at all gates and lobbies
  • Communicate and remain accessible via two-way radio and/or SECURITY COMPANY-issued cellular phone or other devices
  • Complete all reports and paperwork as required
  • Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary
  • Must be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniform
  • Maintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidance and state and federal law
  • Maintain weapons qualifications
  • Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular, in-person attendance is required

  • Work is typically in a busy office environment and subject to frequent interruptions with long periods of sitting, standing or walking. Extended hours to include nights, weekends and holidays may be required
  • May be subject to outdoor conditions including extreme temperatures and weather.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Meet one of the two below requirements:
    • Either a minimum of 4 years in a Combat MOS; U.S. Military Special Operations Unit; or a U.S. Law Enforcement Special Operations Unit (or)
    • Minimum 6 years as a sworn law enforcement officer/agent, legally authorized to carry a firearm, legally empowered to perform arrests, and who satisfied all applicable legal and training requirements for armed law enforcement officers in the jurisdiction in which they were employed.
  • LEOSA/HR218 certification preferred
  • Verifiable experience and training in security awareness, mediation and conflict resolution, disaster and emergency situations and managing personnel at various types of facilities
  • Must possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent from a U.S. Accredited School. Foreign education must be evaluated to meet U.S. education requirements.
  • A US Citizen with social security card and a valid state driver's license
  • BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit with 9mm endorsement
  • California Concealed Weapons Permit
  • BSIS Guard Card
  • Current CPR/AED/1st Aid Certification
  • Write and speak clearly and effectively in English
  • Must meet all medical, physical, drug test standards as outlined in the contract
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of physical fitness and personal appearance
  • Must be able to pass psychological assessment

  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Must meet all physical and psychological standards as required by the contract.
  • Travel may be required to training location.
