Distribution Center Manager | Las Vegas, NVAbout the Role

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Center Manager to lead operations at our Las Vegas distribution facility. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of warehouse and facility operations, including staffing, shipping, receiving, inventory management, Good Distribution Practices (GDP) compliance, and facility maintenance.

The Distribution Center Manager will drive operational excellence through efficiency improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and adherence to established budgets and performance metrics. This individual will be responsible for training and developing warehouse team members, communicating business changes and operational priorities, and serving as the primary point of contact for warehouse problem-solving and day-to-day operational support.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Facility Management
  • Manage overall warehouse operations to meet company standards, seasonal business demands, and budget targets (labor, freight, and supplies) while ensuring compliance with Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and maintaining audit readiness.
  • Maintain a secure, clean, safe, and hygienic warehouse, loading docks, and building perimeter while ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations, food safety requirements, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular facility inspections, coordinate corrective maintenance, and oversee preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, pest control, fire prevention, and security systems to protect inventory and company assets.
Quality & Food Safety Management
  • Implement and maintain Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) programs within the distribution center and serve as the local subject matter expert for food safety programs.
  • Partner with Quality teams and participate in annual audits, inspections, and corrective actions as required.
Transfer & Receiving Management
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound product transfers are accurately processed, staged, scanned, verified, and shipped within 48 hours of receipt, obtaining approval for any required changes.
  • Oversee timely receiving of inbound transfers and purchase orders, ensuring products are scanned, put away, and posted within 6 to 24 business hours.
  • Ensure all discrepancies, including overages, shortages, damages (OS&D), and purchase order issues, are reported according to established procedures.
  • Manage customer returns according to company guidelines and ensure proper product disposition.
Inventory & Stock Maintenance
  • Oversee all inventory activities, including restocking, rotation (FEFO), lot tracking, location accuracy, re-barcoding, cycle counts, and physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy within established budget guidelines.
  • Ensure proper storage, protection, and inspection of inventory.
  • Identify and report non-conforming, overstocked, or short-stocked products and coordinate adjustments or disposition activities, including donation or disposal.
  • Participate in stock level reviews and conduct weekly inspections to proactively address inventory issues.
Fleet Management
  • Manage company fleet assets, including licensing, registration, insurance, maintenance, acquisition, disposal, and documentation.
  • Track, report, and maintain routine and extraordinary vehicle maintenance activities.
  • Ensure Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance oversight.
  • Execute and oversee driver training programs.
Order Fulfillment & Shipping
  • Ensure all customer orders received before cutoff times are picked, scanned, packed, labeled, and shipped the same day.
  • Maintain proper packaging standards and minimize shipping errors through training and process controls.
  • Coordinate with Customer Service, parcel carriers (FedEx, UPS), and LTL carriers (dry and refrigerated) regarding routing, claims, OS&D issues, pickups, late or mid-day sweeps, and shipping performance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements, freight carrier systems, and daily pickup scheduling.
  • Proactively communicate shipping volume trends to support on-time delivery performance.
Supply Ordering
  • Ensure timely ordering and availability of warehouse and packaging supplies, including boxes, tape, pallets, dry ice, ice packs, and other warehouse materials.
  • Identify packaging solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Audit packaging vendors and conduct annual rate comparisons.
People Management & Safety
  • Recruit, train, schedule, coach, and develop warehouse personnel while fostering teamwork, accountability, and a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide documented feedback, hold staff meetings, and manage disciplinary actions and terminations as necessary.
  • Promote employee safety and emergency preparedness by enforcing safety procedures, responding appropriately to workplace incidents, and coordinating emergency response and first-aid support when needed.
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in warehousing, logistics, supply chain operations, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of modern warehousing techniques, logistics operations, special handling and storage requirements, and shipping alternatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and supervise employees.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and proactively.
  • Proven ability to establish priorities, work independently, and achieve objectives with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address recurring operational challenges.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel domestically as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends based on business needs.
Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Forklift certification or equivalent experience.
Compensation
  • Base Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 annually
  • Bonus Eligible

Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, relevant experience, and transferable skills.
