Description

This is a standing posting for positions that MAY open throughout the year. While there may not be an immediate position open currently, openings can occur in any of our locations throughout the year. When you apply, please designate what location you are most interested in or if you're flexible to go to any location, based on need. 

Geographic locations:

North (Mooresville) - Iredell County area

North (North Meck) - Huntersville/Cornelius/Davidson area

East - Cabarrus County

West (Gastonia) - Gaston County

South (Matthews) - South Charlotte area

South (York) - Rock Hill/Fort Mill area


The Staff Coach is responsible for the daily oversight, development, and management of assigned Charlotte Independence Soccer Club (CISC) teams. This role includes coaching responsibilities, team administration, and communication, while aligning with the club's mission, philosophy, and standards. The Staff Coach will work closely with their Program Coaching Director to ensure consistency and quality across all team-related activities, both on and off the field.


JOB DUTIES

Coaching & Team Management

  • Conduct all team practices in a safe, structured, and developmentally appropriate environment.
  • Follow and meet the expectations outlined in the Coaches Checklist (Exhibit C).
  • Handle full seasonal planning, including scheduling of games, tournaments, makeup sessions, and friendlies.
  • Lead all team management duties in alignment with club policies.
  • Obtain approval for any changes to training or game schedules through the Program Coaching Director.
  • Adhere to and promote the club's communication protocols.
  • Serve as the main communicator to team parents, maintaining regular updates and holding team meetings.
  • Actively participate in four recreational clinics per season to support club-wide programming.
  • Complete and submit all player evaluations per club guidelines.
  • Report issues or concerns to the Program Coaching Director and provide weekly team updates.
  • Participate in club tryouts and assist with evaluations as assigned.
  • Seek continued coaching education with support from the club.
  • Follow all player development modules and coaching philosophies established by the club.
  • Submit accurate and timely coaching staff timesheets as required.

Marketing & Communication

  • Promote all special events and support club sponsors and partners through communication to families.
  • Contribute content for program-specific marketing under the direction of the Marketing and Branding Department.
  • Share and repost official club content via personal social media, as comfortable.
  • Help generate program-related content including photos, quotes, and highlights.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful presence on personal social media accounts.
  • Oversee and maintain team and coach profiles on the club website, including accomplishments and bios.
  • Represent and promote a positive image of the club within the community and online.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of soccer coaching experience.
  • Minimum US Soccer Grassroots License or foreign equivalent (must obtain within one year of employment).
  • Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills.
  • Strong time management, project planning, and organizational abilities.
  • Proven ability to develop players and contribute to club-aligned programming.
  • Solid problem-solving and team collaboration experience.
  • Proficient in communication tools and coaching-related technology.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills; must respond to email within 48 hours.
  • Strong customer service mindset with professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
