Job description


Seasonal Summer Security Officer
  • Pay: $23.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Daily, 8:00 PM – 2:00 AM
  • Season Dates: June 15th – August 5th

We are seeking a dependable and professional Security Officer to help maintain a safe and secure environment at a Girl Scout camp during the summer season. This temporary seasonal position is responsible for overnight security patrols, monitoring camp activity, and ensuring that only authorized staff and campers are present on camp property.

The ideal candidate will be approachable, respectful, and capable of maintaining a calm and positive presence while working around children and staff.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols throughout the campgrounds during assigned shifts
  • Ensure that unauthorized individuals do not access camp property
  • Verify that only approved staff members and campers are on site
  • Enforce camp quiet hours and ensure campers remain in their cabins after 10:00 PM
  • Respond appropriately to suspicious activity or safety concerns
  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the night
  • Communicate effectively with camp leadership and staff regarding any incidents or concerns
  • Complete basic incident or activity reports as needed
Qualifications
  • Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful in all situations
  • Comfortable working independently during overnight hours
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required
  • Ability to walk and patrol outdoor campgrounds for extended periods
  • Must be able to obtain a DSPS Private Security Person license
  • Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screening and background investigation
  • Must not have any felony convictions per DSPS requirements
Work Environment

This position takes place at an active Girl Scout camp environment with children and staff present. Professional conduct, patience, and a friendly but authoritative demeanor are essential.
