Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for managing all food safety and quality programs to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and customer requirements. This role oversees the quality department, maintains and updates HACCP systems, conducts internal and external audits, implements corrective and preventive actions, and provides ongoing training for QA and production teams to uphold the highest standards of product quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Ensure full compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and customer food safety standards, maintaining the highest possible audit and inspection ratings.
•    Develop, implement, and maintain food safety, sanitation, and maintenance programs, including related policies, procedures, and employee training.
•    Approve the release of raw materials, packaging, and finished products once all quality and safety requirements have been met; oversee the product hold process for non-conforming items.
•    Lead customer complaint investigations, document and report non-conformances, deviations, and out-of-specification results, and drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
•    Manage environmental monitoring and sanitation programs to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
•    Review and approve QA and Production records, including CCPs, CPs, preventive programs, label verification, sanitation, environmental, and maintenance documentation.
•    Perform and verify Food Safety (CCP) and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.
•    Oversee labeling operations, ensuring accuracy of ingredient statements, nutrition facts, and allergen declarations.
•    Maintain and update the Supplier Quality Program, ensuring current specifications, third-party certifications, and Letters of Guarantee (LOGs).

Requirements:
•    Must be HACCP and PCQI Certified
•    Bachelor’s degree in food science/microbiology/public health or any related field
•    Bilingual in English and Spanish required
•    Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance or related field

Recommendations:
•    SQFI Certification 
•    Knowledge and experience in food microbiology, food safety, and sanitation systems
•    Problem Solving, Analysis, and Decision Making
