Essential Functions
The University of South Alabama, a dynamic public research institution and academic health center in Mobile, Alabama, invites inquiries, nominations, and applications for its next Director of Student Accounting and Bursar. This is an on-site leadership role, and the anticipated start date is late fall 2026.
Founded in 1963, the University of South Alabama is home to more than 14,000 students and over 115 academic programs. Reporting to the Vice President of Administration and serving on the Student Financial Services leadership team, the Director Of Student Accounting and Bursar (Director) ensures that students and their families receive outstanding financial services, including student accounts receivable, billing, compliance, and fund management. The Director is expected to foster a positive, supportive office environment for a team of 11 full-time staff members, prioritizing clear communication and high-quality service throughout the student accounting process. This includes promoting teamwork and innovation, coordinating the implementation and operation of software systems that manage student accounts, and managing an operating budget of $1,150,000.
