Job description

The Role We Need

PadSplit is hiring an SEO Analyst to own and scale our organic search strategy across both traditional search engines and emerging AI-powered answer engines. As more people discover housing solutions through ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, and other AI tools, we need someone who can ensure PadSplit is the trusted source these platforms cite. This role will inherit an active SEO program, execute quickly, and ultimately become the internal authority on search and answer engine optimization.

The Person We Are Looking For

We're looking for a modern SEO practitioner who understands that search is evolving beyond Google rankings and has already adapted their approach to AI-generated search experiences. You're equally comfortable auditing structured data, building content strategies, and leveraging LLMs to automate workflows and scale impact. Most importantly, you're an owner who thrives in end-to-end accountability and wants to become the go-to SEO expert within a fast-growing, mission-driven company.

Here's What You'll Be Doing Day-to-Day
  • SEO Roadmap Ownership — Execute and evolve our existing SEO roadmap, implementing technical recommendations, metadata updates, content initiatives, and optimization opportunities while partnering with our external SEO consultant.
  • Answer Engine Optimization — Improve PadSplit's visibility and citation share across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Bing AI, and other AI-powered search experiences.
  • Content Strategy Development — Identify and create high-intent content opportunities that capture underserved search demand and strengthen PadSplit's authority within affordable housing.
  • Data-Driven Storytelling — Structure, optimize, and publish proprietary PadSplit data and research to establish the company as the authoritative source for housing and financial mobility insights.
  • Technical SEO Management — Monitor crawl health, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, indexation, and structured data implementation while proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Market Page Optimization — Improve performance of city-level and market-specific landing pages while building SEO foundations for new market launches.
  • Authority Building — Partner with PR, content, and external partners to grow high-quality backlinks, brand mentions, and third-party distribution of PadSplit research.
  • Performance Reporting — Own SEO reporting and analytics, measuring organic traffic, rankings, conversions, and AI citation visibility while delivering actionable insights to stakeholders.
Here's What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • AEO/GEO Expertise — Proven experience optimizing content and websites for AI-generated search experiences through structured data, entity development, and citation-focused content strategies.
  • Technical SEO Skills — Strong understanding of schema markup, crawl analysis, site architecture, Core Web Vitals, indexing, and technical auditing tools such as Screaming Frog or Sitebulb.
  • AI Workflow Experience — Demonstrated ability to use LLMs and AI tools to automate research, scale content production, streamline analysis, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Content Strategy Knowledge — Expertise in mapping content to search intent, developing content briefs, evaluating quality, and connecting SEO efforts to business outcomes.
  • Analytics Proficiency — Experience using Google Search Console, GA4, Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz, or similar platforms to measure performance and identify growth opportunities.
  • Project Management Ability — Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple SEO initiatives simultaneously across technical, content, and authority-building workstreams.
  • Communication Excellence — Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills with the ability to create clear documentation, briefs, recommendations, and stakeholder updates.
  • Data Analysis Mindset — Ability to interpret performance data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable strategies; SQL experience and familiarity with BI tools such as Looker Studio are a plus.
Interview Process:
  • Your application will be reviewed for possible next steps by the Hiring Manager.
  • If you meet eligibility requirements, the next step would be a phone screen with a member of the PeopleOps team for about thirty (30) minutes.
  • If warranted, the next steps would be a video interview with our VP of Member Success for forty-five (45) minutes.
  • If warranted, the net step would be a video panel interview with key stakeholders at PadSplit for one (1) hour. The panel interview will require a candidate to work on a content assessment where you will showcase your relative skills to the panel for discussion.
  • If warranted, then we move to offer!
Please note: Although the job posting says it's in Atlanta, Georgia, this is a fully remote position. This is a result of our Applicant Tracking System requiring a location to post the role on LinkedIn.

Notice to Applicants:

PadSplit participates in E-Verify. All new employees are required to complete an I-9 form and be authorized to work in the United States. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of the E-Verify process.
