Job description

Role Overview

We are looking for an analytically-minded search marketer to own paid search performance across Google and Microsoft Ads, while driving our organic SEO strategy. This is an optimization-first role. The person in this role will live in the data, continuously improving campaign efficiency, keyword coverage, Quality Scores, and search rankings. Creative asset production is handled separately; the focus of this role is making every dollar and every keyword work harder.

This is a 1099 contractor role.

Core Responsibilities

Paid Search Optimization

  • Own campaign structure, bidding strategy, and budget allocation across Google and Microsoft Ads
  • Continuously refine keyword lists including match types, negatives, and search term harvesting
  • Optimize Quality Scores, ad rank, and landing page relevance
  • Run structured A/B tests on ad copy variations (briefs provided by creative team)
  • Monitor and report on CPC, ROAS, CVR, and impression share on a weekly basis
  • Manage audience targeting, remarketing lists, and bid adjustments

SEO

  • Perform technical SEO audits covering crawl health, Core Web Vitals, and structured data
  • Build and maintain keyword maps aligned to site architecture
  • Brief the content team on SEO priorities and optimize existing pages for search intent
  • Manage a link acquisition pipeline and monitor domain authority
  • Track organic rankings, traffic trends, and index coverage in Google Search Console
  • Cross-reference paid search data to identify organic content gaps and opportunities

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years managing Google Ads campaigns with a clear track record of performance improvement
  • Hands-on SEO experience with demonstrated ranking or traffic growth, ideally including a technical project or site migration
  • Deep familiarity with Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, and Microsoft Advertising
  • Proficiency with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Sor Screaming Frog
  • Comfortable analyzing large datasets in spreadsheets; experience with reporting tools such as Looker or Data Studio is a plus
  • Able to translate data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience managing monthly ad budgets of $20,000 or more

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Reddit Ads, particularly conversion campaign setup and audience targeting
  • Ability to write or edit ad copy and brief creative assets independently
  • Basic HTML or CSS knowledge for implementing on-page SEO changes without developer support
  • Familiarity with CRO tools such as Unbounce or VWO for landing page testing

Compensation: $50/hour
