The ideal candidate has extensive experience detailing stairs, handrails, guardrails, ladders, ornamental/architectural metals, and other miscellaneous metal packages, while also serving as a quality checkpoint by reviewing and checking the work of others.
If you're looking for a stable company with a strong backlog and an opportunity to make an immediate impact from anywhere in the United States, we'd love to speak with you.
Responsibilities
  • Produce detailed fabrication and erection drawings using SDS/2 for miscellaneous metals projects.

  • Review and check detailing completed by other team members for accuracy and constructability.
  • Generate accurate shop drawings, erection drawings, bills of material, and CNC data.
  • Import, manipulate, and coordinate design files including ENC, DXF, KSS, and other production file formats.
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, engineers, fabrication, and production teams to resolve design questions.
  • Ensure drawings meet project specifications, shop standards, and fabrication requirements.
  • Maintain project schedules while managing multiple detailing assignments.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional SDS/2 detailing experience (10+ years strongly preferred).
  • Extensive experience detailing miscellaneous metals rather than solely structural steel.
  • Demonstrated experience detailing:
    • Stairs
    • Railings
    • Architectural miscellaneous metals
  • Experience checking and reviewing detailing work for quality and accuracy.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and shop production.
  • Experience working with production/design files such as:

    • DXF
    • KSS
    • Similar CNC/production file formats
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 10+ years of SDS/2 detailing experience.
  • Experience with commercial, industrial, and architectural miscellaneous metals projects.
  • Familiarity with fabrication shop workflows and CNC production.
  • Previous experience mentoring or assisting junior detailers.

Why Apply?
  • Fully remote opportunity
  • Competitive compensation based on experience
  • 100% Paid Medical Insurance
