Job description

Location: School of Nursing
Hours: Full-time, Salary
Pay: Commensurate with experience and level of educational achievement according to the SAU salary structure for faculty.
Start date: June 1, 2026
Job Summary: The School of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, in-person graduate faculty position in the MSN and DNP programs. Teaching responsibilities may include nurse practitioner specialty courses such as advanced assessment, primary care (child and adult), and lifestyle medicine. The faculty will engage in didactic instruction, clinical oversight, skills training, simulation, and graduate capstone and scholarly project activities, along with other nursing team members.
Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in nursing
  • Current advanced practice (APRN) certification, license, and clinical experience
  • Certification or significant education in Lifestyle Medicine is highly desirable
  • Teaching experience - nursing higher education, including classroom and clinical
  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in the English language
  • Flexibility and willingness to meet reasonable School of Nursing needs and collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • Service and mission orientation
  • Commitment to SDA nursing education
  • Member in good and regular standing in the SDA church
Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and deliver classroom instruction
  • Use technology and innovative methods to deliver quality course content and engage students effectively
  • Create and administer classroom and clinical assignments, assessments, and evaluations
  • Support students in their learning processes
  • Assist in the skills, simulation, or clinical areas as assigned
  • Engage in student advisement
  • Hold regular office hours
  • Participate in assigned committees
  • Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation processes
  • Maintain credentials, licenses, certifications, and a current understanding of nursing standards
  • Engage in professional development
  • Function as a supportive team player with nursing faculty and staff colleagues
  • Promote a positive spiritual and emotional environment in all interactions
  • Perform duties as assigned by School of Nursing dean
Special Requirements: Must have an expressed commitment to Jesus Christ and the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, be an SDA church member in good and regular standing, and desire to serve.
