Job description


The outside Machinist Journeyman III are assigned hands on responsibilities for the removal, installation and testing of main and auxiliary shipboard equipment including but not limited to MRG’s pumps, hydraulics, valves, bearings, doors, hatches, laundry washers and dryers, scullery equipment, windows etc. Must be able to work in various stages of repair. May be required to assist Outside Machinist Helper as necessary. Performs additional related tasks as assigned.
Duties
  • Able to use hand and power tools.
  • Reads and understand job specifications.
  • Ability to read precision instruments.
  • General knowledge of shipboard layout.
  • Remove and installation of shipboard equipment.
  • Perform applicable testing.
  • Must adhere to an promote All company safety policies. Wear all required PPE when in production areas and promote a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
  • Needs to have a minimum 5 years experience on larger yachts/ships 80 foot and up
  • Need to have extensive tool selection
  • Needs to be experienced in marine shaft seals/bearings/rudders ect.
  • Welding/fabrication a plus
