Data Analyst, Senior

The Opportunity:

As data analyst, you love diving into data and turning it into meaningful insights. With the abundance of structured and unstructured data, you understand the importance of transforming complex data sets into useful information to solve challenges. As a data analyst at Booz Allen, you can use your skills and experience to support a mission and use data for good. We need a data analyst like you to bring your knowledge to empower our clients to understand data.

As a client-facing data analyst on our team, you'll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. Not only will you provide a deep understanding of their data, but you'll also advise your client on what the information means and how it can be used to make an impact on optimizing government technologies.

As a data analyst on our team, you'll be responsible for analyzing structured and unstructured data to support decision-making across our client's organization. This role involves working with data sets from various sources to develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help leadership and operational teams gain actionable insights. The analyst will collaborate with database administrators, system engineers, and mission stakeholders to deliver high-quality, data-driven visualization solutions in support of SOCOM's mission.

What You'll Work On:

  • Collect, clean, transform, and analyze large data sets from multiple sources to identify trends and support decision-making.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or other BI platforms.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and design user-friendly reports and data visualizations.

  • Write queries and scripts in SQL to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from enterprise databases.

  • Write queries and scripts in Microsoft Excel to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from legacy sources.

  • Support the generation of recurring and ad hoc reports for operational and leadership teams.

  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data models and workflows that enhance reporting efficiency.

  • Conduct data quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of reporting outputs.

  • Document data sources, processes, and report specifications for continuity and audit readiness.

  • Collaborate with IT teams and database administrators to troubleshoot data access and integration issues.

  • Provide analytical support for strategic initiatives, operational planning, and mission readiness assessments.

  • Ensure compliance with client data governance, classification, and cybersecurity standards.

  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or data science

  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, operationalizing, and maintaining data applications for reporting and analytics at enterprise scale

  • Experience in data modeling, transformation, and visualization using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Access

  • Experience writing queries for data extraction and analysis

  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming language, such as Python, Java, or C++

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, Data Science, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with distributed data and computing tools, including Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, Hive, AWS EMR, or Kafka

  • Experience with Palantir Maven Smart System

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint integration for data visualization or workflow automation

  • Experience with Agile engineering practices

  • Experience working within a Combatant Command or DoD organization

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
