This is a full time, benefited position working 10-hr day shifts on varied weekdays, generally from 7:30am-6pm. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines.

Why the Cancer Treatment Room?

  • Torrey Pines clinic has been serving our San Diego coastal communities for several years.
  • Our highly skilled Specialized Services RNs work in an innovative, welcoming, and patient-centered environment.
  • The department consists of 25 chairs and do an average of 55-70 cancer treatments including oncology infusions and supporting treatments. 
  • The care team includes charge and resource nurses and resources, and you will work in close contact with the clinic provider and their team.
  • Treating all malignancy types, we have a compounding pharmacy on site and are proud of our patient outcomes.

What you'll do: 

  • Perform patient assessments and care tasks, including emergency procedures, medication administration, chemotherapy/biotherapy administration as appropriate.
  • Educate patients and document patient interactions.
  • Practice infection control.
  • Contribute to the team as necessary to ensure quality patient care within own scope of practice.

This position is eligible for up to $4k in New Hire Retention Incentives and relocation up to $3k if moving from 100 miles away. 

The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago
  • Candidates with less than 1 year of experience as an RN

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title

Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • Completion of accredited RN program.
  • Minimum 1 year RN experience.
  • Current CA RN license.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certificate.
  • Direct experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 or more years RN experience in an outpatient Oncology setting.
  • Excellent IV skills and experience with central venous catheters.
  • Outpatient chemo infusion experience.
