This is a full-time, benefit eligible position for varied shifts located at Scripps Mercy Hospital Chula Vista.

The Security Officer supports Scripps Health through the performance of duties which provide a reasonably safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, employees, medical staff, and property. Is a visible deterrent to criminal activity and actively patrols assigned areas. Ensures policies and procedures are carried out and reports non-compliance. Responds to emergency situations and when appropriate provides guidance for the safe management of the situation, communicating with leadership as necessary. Work is accomplished under the direction of security leadership. Demonstrates a work style that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Scripps Health.

  • CA Driver's License. 
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional. 
  • CA BSIS CA Security Guard. 
    Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: 
  • POST PC 832 Laws of Arrest. 
  • 1 year security, law enforcement, military, or related. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
