Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has served North County’s coastal communities since 1978. We’re located at Santa Fe Drive and I-5, within walking distance of a park, fitness center, grocery store, pharmacy and restaurants.

Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas’ campus includes Scripps Clinic Encinitas and an outpatient imaging center. We’re home to notable specialty programs including a 24-hour emergency room, accredited stroke care, physical rehabilitation services (including a brain injury day treatment program), our Baby Friendly birthing pavilion and a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.

This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position (72 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour Days

Since 1978, Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas has delivered quality clinical and surgical services to San Diego’s North County.  The hospital is best known for its Primary Stroke Center – the first of its kind in North County.  Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas also provides 24-hour emergency services, OB-GYN, maternal health and infant health services, and a regionally recognized brain injury program.  With over 138 beds and a wide variety of specialty services, this sprawling Encinitas hospital is designed to fit every patient’s needs. 

We invite you to join Medical Acute 2 South, a 32-bed unit where you will provide primary care to patients dealing with cardiac, pulmonary, diabetic, neurologic, cognitive orthopedic, CIWA, psychiatric issues; observe progress and update patient charts.

RNs work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care and enjoy a well-managed, cohesive working environment.

Position is eligible for New Hire Retention Incentive up to $7K.

The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:

  • Internal candidates
  • Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:

  • Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
  • Must remain in original department/specialty
  • Must remain in original Job Title
  • Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.

Required Qualifications:

  • Current CA RN License
  • One (1) year of recent RN experience
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification
  • Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
  • Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ACLS Certification
  • Recent RN experience in an acute care setting
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Epic EHR experience
