Job description

Bunzl Safety is currently seeking a Print (Direct-to-Film) and Value-Added Services Operator to perform end-to-end digital transfer production for multiple Bunzl businesses and customers. The position prepares artwork and production files, operates direct-to-film printing and finishing equipment, inspects output, maintains production records by business and customer, and supports other Value-Added Services (VAS) work as production needs require. The operator is expected to deliver accurate, consistent work while meeting quality, safety, and productivity standards.
Responsibilities:
  • Inspect completed work against approved artwork, proofs, samples, and order specifications; segregate nonconforming materials and report quality issues promptly.
  • Apply completed transfers to garments or products using heat-press equipment as required by work orders.
  • Accurately record production data, including quantities, waste, reprints, material usage, downtime, and job completion information.
  • Package, label, stage, and route completed work to the appropriate customer order, business unit, or downstream operation.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and operator-level preventive maintenance on printers, curing equipment, heat presses, and related tools; monitor consumable inventory and communicate replenishment or repair needs.
  • Monitor consumable inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to ensure continuous production and operational efficiency.
  • Follow established safety, handling, storage, housekeeping, PPE, and waste-disposal procedures for equipment, inks, powders, cleaners, and other production materials.
  • Coordinate with graphic design, customer service, warehouse, and VAS personnel to resolve artwork, material, order, or production questions.
  • Support DTF production and other Value-Added Services (VAS) activities, including screen printing, pad printing, tagging, packing, rework, kitting, and assembly, while flexing between functions based on business needs.
  • Participate in cross-training, process improvement, and standard-work development. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • High School/GED education required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One to two years of experience in direct-to-film printing, digital printing, heat-transfer production, screen printing, pad printing, or a related machine-operator role preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator / Adobe Photoshop.
  • Must be able to lift heavy objects (occasionally between 50-75 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation for an entire shift).
  • Experience working from production orders, artwork, proofs, specifications, and quality standards preferred.
  • Ability to use a computer and learn print-production software, file-management practices, and internal production systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, dependability, and ability to manage multiple orders and changing priorities.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Bunzl Safety California salary range is $18 -23 per hour based on experience, education and geographic location.
