THE ROLE

The Press Operator is responsible for the set-up, trouble-shooting and operation of the screen print decorating press at Grandstand.

  • Prepare, trouble shoot, and operate the screen print decorating press.
  • Register multi-color designs.
  • Review customer order paperwork and determine appropriate type of ware to be printed, color of ink to be used, and location of the print on the product.
  • Plan work as outlined by the daily schedule.
  • Perform basic maintenance on the screen print decorating press.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Management.

THE ESSENTIALS

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience operating a semi-automatic screen print press is required.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics is required.
  • Knowledge of screen print vocabulary, techniques and processes is required.
  • Ability to understand basic written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, present information, and respond to questions in verbal and written format, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, plan and set priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and be highly motivated.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to exhibit strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability establish and maintain effective working relationship across all levels of Grandstand.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Being dependable and prompt.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Level 2: Light Work
  • Occasionally exerts up to 20 pounds of force; frequently exerts up to 10 pounds of force.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/lower, carry or push/pull (force exerted) 0-20 pounds.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require occasional walking, sitting, change of position, reaching (extended hands/arms), reach across mid-line, handling (hold, grasp,

seize, turn), fingering (pinch/pick), feeling (perceive attributes of objects), crouching/squatting (bend legs/spine), crawling, balancing, stooping (bend at waist), kneeling, stairs, ramp, ladder, arm/hand, leg/foot, simple grasp (grasp lightly), firm grasp (use pressure/force), and fine manipulation.

  • Ability to perform physical activities that require frequent standing.
  • Ability to lift/carry products, inks or dyes.
  • Ability to push and/or pull squeegees over screens with force.
  • Ability to perceive small details on product at arms-length distance.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The Apparel Press Operator may work in uncomfortably hot or cold environments, in uncomfortable and cramped positions, or on ladders.
  • Interaction with staff and customers.
