Yard Supervisor - Metals Recycling - Base Salary to 75k/year - Warrensville, PA

  • Our client, a well-established metals recycling and scrap processing organization, is seeking a Yard Supervisor to oversee daily yard operations including material flow, production, inventory, and team performance.
  • This is a hands-on, working supervisor role responsible for leading yard personnel while actively supporting scrap processing operations. The schedule is Monday through Friday with a rotating Saturday requirement.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily scrap yard operations including receiving, grading, processing, and outbound shipments of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
  • Monitor and manage material flow from inbound scale through sorting, processing, and shipping
  • Lead and support a team of yard employees including equipment operators, laborers, and material handlers
  • Operate and oversee heavy equipment such as material handlers, excavators, loaders, mobile shears, and stationary processing equipment
  • Track and report production metrics, inventory levels, and daily throughput
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards, equipment protocols, and operational procedures
  • Maintain accountability for employee productivity, attendance, and overall yard performance
  • Coordinate with leadership on production goals, scheduling, and operational improvements

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience within metals recycling, scrap processing, steel, foundry, or heavy industrial environments
  • Hands-on experience working with ferrous and/or non-ferrous metals, including material grading and identification
  • Experience operating and supervising use of heavy equipment such as material handlers, loaders, excavators, and shear equipment
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, outdoor industrial yard environment
  • Ability to work a rotating Saturday schedule as required
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining safe work practices in an industrial setting

Compensation:

  • Base salary in the 65k - 75k/year range
  • Profit sharing bonus structure
