Job description

Our Digital Infrastructure Group has been at the forefront of creating a new generation of communication infrastructure for over 40 years. We specialize in everything from network development to complete telecom life cycle solutions, datacenter retrofits and modernization, to full datacenter buildouts. While these critical environments are ever changing, the demand for innovative technology and long-term support remains constant. These services include design, construction, updates, and maintenance of new and existing datacenter facilities.

Telecom Construction/Equipment Manager

The Telecom Construction Manager is responsible for the project's construction schedule, expenses, and quality and safety. This position also manages the resources performing the construction work including direct reporting staff, matrix staff and vendor and subcontractor resources.

  • This position will report to site location

  • Manage project development from conception through completion (both large and small) in accordance with program objectives

  • Must maintain and enforce the Amentum Beyond Zero safety program, ensure daily job site safety plans are reviewed and followed, and stop work when unsafe work practices or conditions exist

  • Must have a good understanding and experience of Construction and Material/BOM Management and will be required to work with multiple departments

  • Conducts engineering reviews, material take offs and coordinates procurement and delivery according to schedule with procurement group(s) in line with schedule and CPM's direction

  • Interface with the client's engineering team, as well as utilizing the company's engineering and management team for decisions

  • Will be responsible to schedule, track, measure, and report daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly progress to key stakeholders

  • Oversee or coordinate system commissioning, fiber testing (OTDR), RF performance validation, and integration with carrier networks.

  • Manage project closeout processes, including punch lists, as-built documentation, closeout packages (COPs) and warranties

  • Implement and audit a formal Quality Control (QC) plan, including regular inspections and compliance with specifications.

  • Manage multiple concurrent DAS projects, including resource leveling across sites.

  • Conduct subcontractor bid reviews, scope negotiations, and performance evaluations.

  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, or MS Project) for CPM scheduling, dashboards, and real-time tracking.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years of wireless construction experience required- hands-on DAS or in-building wireless preferred

  • Experience with DAS-specific tools (iBwave, OTDR, PIM testing) and low-voltage/fiber installation best practices.

  • A valid driver's license is required

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required

  • MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required

  • Day, night and weekend work in support of project completion is required

  • Active OSHA-30 certification or greater is preferred

  • MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL

Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights.

Compensation Details:

$90,000 - $110,000

Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
