THE JOB:
The Executive Director of Network Infrastructure & Telecommunications is responsible for directing and managing the engineering staff and facilities supporting MGM Resorts' enterprise network and telecommunications environment. This role reports to the VP of Infrastructure and will lead the implementation and enhancement of consistent engineering practices to ensure stable delivery of network and telecom services aligned with company initiatives and expectations. The Executive Director will support operations including technical services, property maintenance, service delivery, and network operations while directing project planning, capital budgeting, and business plan development. The candidate will have a high degree of cross-functional communication and participation in network and telecom deployment, and support is essential to this role.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Lead the design and evolution of MGM's network and telecommunications architecture, developing and approving innovative solutions that align with business strategies
  • Drive initiatives to optimize network and telecom performance and standardize architecture across existing environments, incorporating new technologies to support services as required
  • Ensure the security of network and telecommunications infrastructure by implementing and maintaining robust safeguard processes for operational efficiency
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Oversee enterprise telecommunications platforms including VoIP/UC systems, PBX, contact center infrastructure, carrier services, and DAS/cellular
  • Manage carrier and telecom vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, SLA enforcement, and cost optimization across MGM's property portfolio
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on the organization and recommending relevant upgrades or enhancements
  • Provide thought leadership to operationalize next-generation network and telecom technologies across all environments, offering technical guidance on emerging trends and integrating cutting-edge solutions into products and services
  • Spearhead process improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for automation and streamlining deployment processes across network and telecom operations
  • Mentor and coach technical talent within the organization, fostering the development of deep technical expertise at all levels
  • Effectively manage third-party relationships to drive high performance
