JOB TITLE: Neuromodulation Specialist 

REPORTS TO: COO 

JOB SCOPE: 

BrainStim Centers, Inc. The premiere TMS Brain Health Center of Los Angeles, owned by neurosurgeon Dr. Mark Liker, is looking for a motivated professional to serve as a Neuromodulation Specialist, also referred to as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) Specialist. The Neuromodulation Specialist will play a key role in accomplishing both long and short-term goals in patient health care plans by conducting neuromodulation treatments for non-pharmaceutical brain health care. This is a full-time, long-term, in office growth role and not suited for a gap year or part time. 


MAJOR JOB DUTIES: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to execute each major duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Experience in direct patient care, psychology, neuroscience, or mental health 
  • Proactive thoughtful patient care 
  • Accurate and educated use of technological equipment 
  • Thoughtful explanation of scientific procedures and protocols to patients 
  • Records and compiles information on patient physical condition 
  • Monitors patient physical and emotional well-being, communicates with physician and staff 
  • Understands and articulates medical research 
  • Office tasks as needed 
  • Generates reports, may graph, calculate and compile data 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to develop relationships and communicate 
  • Intrinsically motivated 
  • Extraordinary attention to detail 
  • Knowledge of medical, neurological, and psychiatric terminology 
  • Empathetic, reflective, and with the ability to communicate in a manner that de-escalates tense situations

  • Demonstrates creativity and flexibility in all aspects of job 
  • Problem solver, able to swiftly identify and address patient concerns 
  • Ability to set personal boundaries with patients 
  • Leadership skills and a growth mindset 
  • Technically proficient, able to adopt new technology 
  • Skill with EMR software program for office calendaring and storage of patient information 

SUPERVISORY ABILITIES: 

  • No direct reports 

EDUCATION OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, psychology or the sciences preferred
  • Patient care experience 
  • Spanish a plus 
  • ABA experience is helpful 
  • Must have 3 years minimum work experience 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and moving 
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times 
  • May need to commute between locations on occasion
