**This is an on-site position located in Roslyn, NY. **


General Summary: The Senior Software Developer works closely with business operations to gather and analyze specifications and requirements. The position requires strong hands-on experience in data warehouse technologies, ETL processing, reporting and analytics, enterprise application integration, and automation. The developer will design and implement scalable database solutions, executive dashboards, Origami Risk customizations, and secure integrations with third-party vendors while providing technical leadership, mentoring team members, and driving architecture and best practices.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide production support, development and implementation with respect to PRIMMA’s data warehouse/ database environments, SAP reporting application and any supporting environments and tools.
  • Drive architectural decisions and contribute to long-term technology strategy in partnership with the IT team and leadership.
  • Design, develop, and maintain database solutions using Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL transformations to support various applications and reporting needs.
  • Work with the Origami Risk application to customize and enhance its functionality.
  • Understand Origami Risk backend data structure and relationship between tables.
  • Create and maintain Origami Risk batch jobs.
  • Create and maintain data transfer shell scripts in Linux OS.
  • Develop and maintain user interfaces using JavaScript and related technologies.
  • Create and manage mail merge templates to automate document generation.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance business reports and dashboards using SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, and Tableau to support operational and executive reporting.
  • Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, provide actionable insights, and present information in a meaningful format for executive leadership.
  • Design, develop, and support system integrations with third-party vendors using secure file transfer technologies (SFTP), automated file processing, and data exchange workflows.
  • Create, monitor, and troubleshoot automated data exchange processes to ensure reliable integration between internal applications and external vendor systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, create source to target mappings, data models and ensure project delivery.
  • Act as a go-to technical expert and mentor to junior and mid-level developers.
  • Create innovative solutions to automate business operation.
  • Analyze database environments and suggest methods to improve operational efficiency and scalability.
  • Assist with planning and performing database upgrades and updates.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation as it relates to specific applications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience Oracle or SQL Server, using packages, procedures and functions.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience developing business intelligence applications and reports using SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, and/or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to executive management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, mentoring junior developers, and providing technical guidance to development teams.
  • Experience integrating enterprise applications with third-party vendors using file transfer technologies such as SFTP, secure file exchange, and automated batch processing.
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting and automation of file transfer processes is highly preffered.
  • Experience with the Origami Risk application is a plus.
  • Experience in the insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries is a plus.Good knowledge of database / data warehouse modeling and design concepts required.
  • Experience utilizing various programming language required, C#, .Net, Java, Python preferred.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and user interface development.
  • Proven experience in creating mail merge templates.
  • Familiarity working with source control tools, GIT preferred.
  • Must demonstrate ability to maintain effective working relationships with departments, employees, management and clients.
  • Ability to function in a professional office environment and utilize standard office equipment.
