Employment Category:Full-Time Location: NASA GSFC - Hybrid Security Clearance: None Citizenship:U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Salary: $140,000 - $160,000 Job Description: Serves as a senior technical authority responsible for the design, development, and optimization of advanced scientific software supporting NASA Earth science modeling and high-performance computing initiatives

Provide technical leadership in the development and enhancement of modeling frameworks, computational tools, and software infrastructure while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of scientific applications. Key Responsibilities Include: Design, develop, and optimize scientific software and modeling frameworks. Develop and enhance software infrastructure supporting Earth system modeling and high-performance computing.

Improve application performance, scalability, and computational efficiency. Collaborate with scientists and engineers to implement new modeling capabilities and software enhancements. Review, test, and document software to ensure quality, reliability, and maintainability.PhD or Master's degree +6 additional years of experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Approximately 15+ years of relevant experience. Expert knowledge of scientific software development and HPC. Demonstrated technical leadership on large research or government programs.
