Position Summary:

The FFPE Warehouse Associate contributes to our mission by managing the flow of goods and services, especially the movement and storage of raw materials from hospital partners, and inclusive of work-in-process inventory as well as finished goods to point of consumption.

A Day in the Life of a FFPE Warehouse Associate at Discovery Life Sciences:

  • Receive, pick and pack raw material.
  • Keep accurate records of materials coming and leaving.
  • Review priorities daily to ensure order requests are fulfilled in a timely manner

Position Qualifications (Education, Skills, Experience):

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Previous warehouse and logistics experience in the biotechnology sector is preferred
  • Proven expertise in control of documents and material tracking
  • Knowledge of universal precautions, bloodborne pathogens, and handling human specimens preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with Excel preferred
  • Ability to lift or move 30 lbs regularly and move up to 300 pounds occasionally on a pallet jack
  • Ability to use pallet jack and hand truck preferred

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow SOP’s related to the warehouse (i.e. receiving of raw goods process, safety guidelines)
  • Receive and inspect shipments for damage and missing samples
  • Maintain records of all samples received and removed from warehouse
  • Perform slide and block pulls to fulfill orders or build inventory – deliver to company FFPE Laboratory
  • Conduct disposal of paraffin blocks and slides as designed in Block Retirement Strategy.
  • Assist in Data Team Responsibilities by entering diagnosis and staging information on each case assigned
  • Learn fire monitoring system and controlled access security system
  • Serve as first responder to temperature monitor events and other site emergencies
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Respect the privacy of the personal information of patients, co-workers, and all individuals with whom the Company interacts
  • Ensure compliance with all laws and regulations applicable to the Company and its operations
