Job description

The Ads Measurement Science team in the Measurement, Ad Tech, and Data Science (MADS) team of Amazon Ads serves a centralized role developing solutions for a multitude of performance measurement products. We create solutions which measure the comprehensive impact of advertiser's ad spend, including sales impacts both online and offline and across timescales, and provide actionable insights that enable our advertisers to optimize their media portfolios. We also own the science solutions for AI tools that unlock new insights and automate high-effort customer workflows, such as custom query and report generation based on natural language user requests.

We leverage a host of scientific technologies to accomplish this mission, including Generative AI, classical ML, Causal Inference, Natural Language Processing, and Computer Vision.
As a Principal Technical Program Manager on the team, you will be at the forefront of innovation, driving program execution on some of the most high ambiguity, high impact initiatives within Ads. You will work across Product, Science, and Engineering to drive AI initiatives spanning VP organizations, including 1) our Analyst Agent which will work alongside other ads agents to transform the performance reporting and insights experience for advertisers, and 2) our Ads Customer Journey Model, which seeks to revolutionize our measurement, planning, and optimization experiences through foundational customer journey understanding. You will own the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale technical programs that span multiple teams, product organizations, and business stakeholders

You'll work at the intersection of advertising technology, machine learning, and distributed systems to solve ambiguous problems that shape the future of digital advertising.
Key job responsibilities
- Own end-to-end program management for strategic advertising technology initiatives spanning multiple teams and organizations
- Drive technical strategy and roadmap alignment across engineering, product, science, and business teams
- Lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges in areas such as ad serving, campaign management, measurement, and optimization
- Establish program governance, metrics, and reporting mechanisms to ensure visibility and accountability at the VP level
- Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks across large-scale distributed systems serving billions of ad requests daily
- Partner with engineering leaders to influence architecture decisions and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance
- Build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders across Amazon Ads, AWS, and Retail organizations
- Drive operational excellence through process improvements, automation, and best practices
- Mentor and develop other TPMs across the organization
- Represent Amazon Ads technical programs in executive-level reviews and planning sessions
A day in the life
You will solve real-world problems by getting and analyzing large amounts of data, generate business insights and opportunities, design simulations and experiments, and develop statistical and ML models. The team is driven by business needs, which requires collaboration with other Scientists, Engineers, and Product Managers across the advertising organization. You will prepare written and verbal presentations to share insights to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication.
