Job Description
The Market Share Measurement & Analytics Manager will be responsible for leadership, strategy, and execution of Best Buy's market measurement and industry analytics capabilities. This role will leverage the model-driven market share solution and other available data sources to deliver accurate, actionable insights that inform enterprise decision-making. Additionally, this position will foster cross-functional collaboration across merchandising, finance, marketing, and executive leadership, and provide clear, strategic reporting and insights that enable Best Buy to anticipate market shifts and drive sustainable growth.
This role is hybrid, which means you will work some days on site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or another non-Best Buy location. The specific work arrangements vary by role and team, and the recruiter or hiring manager will provide additional details during the hiring process.
What You'll Do:
  • Manage and evolve ongoing market measurement and analytics, integrating diverse data sources across time, category, brand, and customer dimensions to generate strategic insights and answer key business questions.
  • Design, maintain, and continuously enhance market share measurement and metrics, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and alignment with evolving business needs through strong technical expertise and partnerships.
  • Deliver clear, actionable reporting, diagnostics, and insights tailored for executive audiences and business stakeholders to inform strategy and drive category growth.
  • Develop, manage, and mentor a high-performing team (1-2 decision scientists), fostering a collaborative, inclusive culture with a focus on technical and career growth.
  • Engage and influence stakeholders across merchandising, finance, marketing, and executive leadership, prioritizing high-impact use cases and navigating a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with data engineering, BI teams, and external vendors to ensure data integrity, monitor emerging data sources, and resolve gaps or inconsistencies in external datasets.

Basic Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, retail, market research, or competitive intelligence.
  • 4+ years of experience applying analytical techniques to answer business questions
  • 3+ years of experience leveraging data science and data visualization tools, such as SQL, Tableau/PowerBI/Looker, SAS, R and/or Python
  • 1+ years of direct or indirect people leadership
  • 2+ years of demonstrated success collaborating/influencing cross functional business teams/decisions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex data into impactful business insights.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of balancing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results on time.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physical Sciences, or related field
  • Master's degree in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Physical Sciences, or related field
  • Experience with advanced analytic techniques including statistical inference, predictive modeling, and big data analytics.
  • Experience working with syndicated data
  • 2 or more years' experience influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization
