What will your typical day look like?

As a Data Science Manager, you will play a key role in leading the delivery, building capabilities, and pursuing new data science opportunities in high-growth areas including retail analytics, customer analytics, marketing analytics, and optimization solutions. You will take a lead in delivering advanced analytics solutions and advisory services to high-growth organizations, managing and supporting a diverse team consisting of data scientists, data architects, software developers, information designers, and business/industry leaders.

You will be responsible for client communication, from sales and business problem definition to final delivery, knowledge transfer, and model maintenance. You will guide your team through solutioning and delivery, including advanced analytics model design and development, insight generation, and the development of AI and ML models. As a key part of this process, you will make most appropriate model selection and ensure quality and delivery of statistical and AI/ML models, computations, and data ETL by the data science team, to deliver best-of-breed analytical solutions for clients’ business problems. You and your team will work with large amounts of data on a granular level, from structured and unstructured data sources and participate in various structured and ad-hoc analysis projects. You will be a principal link between data science team and the client and will regularly communicate insights on client projects and provide support in planning and data collection. You will both lead and support pitches and proposal bids to drive business development.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

You are someone with these required skills, experience and qualifications:
•    5+ years of experience in applying analytics or model development using data in a professional context.
•    Significant experience with statistical techniques, data mining, optimization (linear programming), and predictive models.
•    Proficiency in hands-on data analysis and modeling using Python.
•    Experience with databases and programming languages (SQL, Oracle, Hadoop, NoSQL) for data manipulation and integration.
•    Experience with cloud ML platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is an asset.
•    Experience with natural language processing, computer vision, and/or GenAI is an asset.
•    Advanced degrees (MSc, equivalent, or higher) in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
•    BA/BSc degree in these fields will be considered if coupled with significant industry experience demonstrating proven success in leading complex projects.
It would be great for you to have some of these nice-to-haves as well:
•    Leadership or management experience, including project management in analytical, ML, or data-driven fields.
•    Proven track record in leading teams for end-to-end delivery of advanced analytics, data science, or AI/ML solutions.
•    Ability to understand the business significance of data, handle data ambiguity, develop creative analytical solutions, and interpret results from a business perspective.
•    Enthusiasm for solving complex problems with various analytical tools.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
•    Interest in continuing to develop analytical and business development skills.
•    Professional services, consulting, or advisory experience is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $84,000 - $175,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
