Job Summary

Clinical Informaticist II

Role Summary Supports core clinical informatics functions within VHA EHRM that enable safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care during and after Federal EHR go-lives. Works under the guidance of Clinical Informaticist III and Health IT Principal Medical Informaticist resources.

Key Responsibilities under ORIS

  • Assess information and knowledge-based needs of healthcare professionals and patients
  • Characterize, evaluate, and refine clinical processes
  • Develop, implement, and refine clinical decision support systems
  • Lead or participate in the procurement, customization, development, implementation, management, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical information
  • Assist with Clinical Informatics Issue Triage and Resolution and support Workflow Stabilization and Optimization activities
  • Participate in end-user optimization, usability feedback collection, and rapid-cycle improvement
  • Contribute to User Enablement, Upskilling, and Peer-Support Activities related to super users and end users
  • Help characterize clinical processes and refine clinical decision support as needed
Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Informatics, Nursing, Health Sciences, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical informatics or EHR support experience
  • Experience supporting clinicians with EHR issue resolution and workflow analysis
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct VA or Federal EHR (Oracle Health / Cerner) experience
  • Experience with post-go-live stabilization and Tiered Hub processes
  • Familiarity with Lean Portfolio Management and/or Agile delivery environments
