The STEM Education Coordinator โ Digital Learning & Coding designs, delivers, and evaluates engaging Kโ8 learning experiences focused on digital literacy, computer science, and foundational STEM skills. This role integrates creativity, problem-solving, and technology into dynamic lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence among young learners.ย
Theย Coordinatorย develops curriculum,ย facilitatesย workshops and afterschool programs, and supports digital learning initiatives atย BakerRipleyโsย Learning and Innovation Centers. While this position specializes in early STEM learning and coding, theย Coordinatorย remainsย familiar with all Innovation Center programs and canย assistย or substitute in other areas as needed.ย

Essential Functionsย
- Design, implement, and evaluate Kโ8 STEM and digital learning curriculum, including but not limited to coding, robotics, and problem-based learningย
- Facilitate programing during school, afterschool, weekend, and summer programs atย BakerRipleyย sites, community locations, and partner schoolsย
- Manage andย maintainย classroom and technology resources, ensuring safe and effective use by studentsย
- Conduct outreach and engagement with local schools and community organizations to promote youth participation.ย
- Collect, analyze, and report program participation and outcomesย
- Manage inventory, materials, and space organization for creative technology areasย
- Sustain relationships with schools, community partners, and participants to expand program reachย
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure integrated STEM learning opportunities and provide cross-program support when neededย
- Must be willing and able to safely drive and operateย BakerRipleyโsย Mobile Fab Lab, which includes a truck and trailer used for community outreach and off-site programming occasionallyย
Preferred/Required Qualifications:
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in Education, Computer Science, or a related STEM field; or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Experience in curriculum design or instructional leadership for Kโ8 STEM or computer science education
- Preferred: Teaching certification or equivalent instructional experience
Work Experience:
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience teaching or facilitating STEM or digital learning programs for Kโ8 students
- Proven experience in developing and implementing curriculum and managing group learning environments
- Experience working with diverse learners in community or afterschool settings
Knowledge, Skills and abilities:
- Strong understanding of STEM and computer science education for Kโ8 learners
- Proficiency with age-appropriate coding and robotics platforms (e.g., Scratch, LEGO Robotics, or similar)
- Proficiency with makerspace and fabrication tools (e.g., 3D printers, laser cutters, hand tools)
- Ability to design and deliver engaging, inclusive, and interactive lessons
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and classroom management skills
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility to support other Innovation Center programs when needed
- Commitment to inclusive, hands-on, and community-driven learning
