Position:Cycle Instructor Salary:$25.00-$30.00 (Commensurate with experience and certs)

About the Job.

The Cycling Instructor position contributes to our member experience at YMCA Anthony Bowen. The Cycling Instructor will deliver high quality member experiences through safe, fun, inspiring, effective and motivational classes.


Some of the exciting tasks you will do as a Cycle Instructor include but are not limited to: 

  • Demonstrate bike setup, proper form and positions, and the ability to modify intensity for members when necessary.
  • Increase attendance through knowledge, skill and emotional connection.
  • Demonstrate proper techniques and form to help participants achieve their fitness goals. 
  • Responsible for the safety of all participants during class time
  • Drive excitement for classes and recruit members to join.
  • Secure appropriate substitutes to ensure class coverage.
  • Create community through positive interactions before and after class.
  • Reports to class on time, prepared with materials and equipment, and dressed in appropriate attire.
  • Knows emergency procedures and the location of emergency equipment.
  • Keeps class attendance and records.
  • Other duties as required.

 
Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Able to conduct safe, effective and motivating Group exercise class.
  • Ability to effectively educate and communicate with participants of all ages and skill levels.
  • Must display an outgoing personality, enabling him/her to relate well to participants.
  • Knowledge of safe exercise techniques and ability to demonstrate them.
  • Must be outgoing, energetic and able to perform in front of an audience.
  • Willing to teach at least two/ three classes a week.
  • Demonstrated interest in working with individuals as well as groups of people.
  • Current CPR, AED.
  • Nationally Accredited Cycling Certification.
