Job description


Assignment: 
6 hours per day, 184 days per year

  • 3 hours for Clear Springs Elementary
  • 3 hours for Scenic Heights Elementary


Wages:
Minimum hourly rate: $25.41 (new rate for 2026-2027)

Job Responsibilities:






  1. Track due dates of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Evaluation Reports (ERs), keep special education staff updated of timelines, and maintain a master calendar.
  2. Maintain current year special education caseload, track and compile data to comply with state mandated special education requirements.  This includes, but is not limited to, assisting special education staff in meeting December 1 Child Count deadlines in order to retain Federal funding, monthly caseload updates, etc.
  3. Crosscheck and verify accuracy of data as it relates to special education students and due process requirements, including resolving discrepancies in SpEd Forms.
  4. Process and disseminate forms and paperwork needed for re-evaluations and IEP meetings.
  5. Schedule special education meetings using Microsoft Outlook.
  6. Communicate by phone, in person or by written notice with school and District personnel, students, parents and the general public.
  7. Operate printer, fax machine and copier, including maintaining and troubleshooting printer.
  8. Apply current office technology to accomplish job tasks which include typing, word processing, database management, preparing and distributing records, reports, correspondence and mailings.  Participate in training to maintain and upgrade skills through quarterly clerical department meetings.
  9. Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.


Job Requirements:

  1. Evidence of excellent word processing skills, minimum of 50 wpm. Experience with Windows/Microsoft Office Word or similar software, EasyIEP, Microsoft Outlook, Skyward Student and Financial, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
  2. Evidence of the ability to stay on task in an office atmosphere of constant interruption/shared space.
  3. Evidence of the ability to maintain a good rapport with co-workers and cooperate in providing services.
  4. Evidence of flexibility is a high priority.  Ability to maintain a positive, helpful attitude.
  5. Evidence of pleasant telephone manner and excellent human relations skills.
  6. Evidence of excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  7. Evidence of attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  8. Evidence of the ability to maintain confidentiality of school-related information.
  9. Evidence of ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  10. Evidence of ability to perform duties under pressure, handle frequent interruptions and adjust to changing priorities.
  11. Ability of being able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  12. Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction.
