Job description

Mental Health Services-Clerk Typist

Location: St Paul MN 55104 Duration: 3-6 months

The main functions of the Clerk Typist 3 are to serve as the front desk liaison for the clinic, greeting clients, checking clients in for their appointments, answering the main phone line for the clinic, as well as being available to clients who are walking into the clinic for the first time. It is the front line for the clients who are utilizing our clinics services.

Duties

  • Front office reception receives people who come in for scheduled appointments.
  • Checks in the patient and notifies the provider.
  • Verifies insurance and eligibility, completes reminder calls.
  • Provides resource information.
  • Assesses needs for immediate assistance or services.
  • Coordinates services between both MHC and MH Urgent Care locations.
  • Answers phone calls to the main line for the clinic.
  • Receives and processes faxes and labs.
  • Receives and processes emails, mail and other sources of communication from the county as well as outside agencies.

Minimum Qualifications Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Experience: Four years of experience as a Clerk-Typist 1 or equivalent.
