Job description

St. Paul Catholic School is seeking a dependable, caring, and enthusiastic Part-Time Middle School Teachers Assistant to join our school community. This individual will work collaboratively with our Middle School teachers to support students academically, assist with classroom organization and instruction, and help maintain a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Middle School teachers with classroom instruction, activities, and daily routines.
  • Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce learning and provide academic support.
  • Help students stay organized, focused, and engaged in their work.
  • Prepare classroom materials, resources, and supplies as needed.
  • Assist with student supervision during transitions, lunch, recess, Mass, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities.
  • Reinforce schoolwide expectations for responsibility, respect, behavior, and academic effort.
  • Build positive and appropriate relationships with Middle School students.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet the needs of students.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by teachers or school administration.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or experience in education is preferred.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents is preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Patient, dependable, flexible, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Supportive of the mission and teachings of the Catholic Church and Catholic education.
  • Must meet all Diocese of St. Petersburg Safe Environment and background screening requirements.
