Superintendent of Schools 
School District (Ocean County) Available: approximately August 2026

The Opportunity: The Barnegat Township School District, Ocean County, serving
close to 3,800 students in grades Pre-K-12 with one preschool, three elementary
schools, one middle school and one high school.

The Barnegat Township school district is seeking a dynamic, visionary and experienced
educational leader to serve as the Superintendent of Schools. The successful candidate
must possess strong administrative experience, demonstrate exceptional instructional
leadership, and exhibit excellent communication skills to foster partnerships with staff,
parents, and the community.
 




Qualifications:
Valid New Jersey school administrator certification (standard)
Minimum 5 years of progressive administrative experience
Demonstrate experience in curriculum, development, budget management, and
personnel supervision
Experience with New Jersey school law, QSAC and state mandated assessments
 





Key responsibilities:
Leadership - provides strategic direction for implementation of the district missions and
goals
Board relations - advise the board on all matters, recurring action, including policy
revisions
Instructional leadership - maintain a high-quality education educational program to
improve student achievement
Community engagement - engage actively with Stakeholders (parents community
members) and parentheses to build trust and partnership
Operations and finance - Oversee district operations and manage the budget within a
dynamic and evolving funding environment
