Job description

ENGINEERING A FRAMEWORK OF EXCELLENCE.

THE BEST OPERATIONS MANAGERS

were once right where you're standing.

DuraServ is looking for an Assistant Operations Manager who leads service coordinators, manages daily execution, and is ready to grow into full branch operational ownership.

This Is Where Operational Leaders Are Built.

DuraServ's branch service departments keep commercial dock and door systems running for warehouses, distribution centers, and industrial facilities across the country. Behind every technician in the field is an operations team that planned the schedule, staged the equipment, managed the subcontractors, and made sure the customer commitment was met — on time, on budget, and to standard.

As Assistant Operations Manager, you work directly alongside the Operations Manager to keep that engine running — supervising Service Coordinators, managing daily schedules and manpower, overseeing the warehouse and inventory protocols, and reinforcing the operational standards that define how this branch performs. This isn't a step sideways. It's a structured path to running the department yourself.

If you're operationally sharp, accountable by nature, and ready to take on supervisory responsibility with a clear path to more — this is your next move.

What You'll Do

Execute the Operation

  • Assist in planning, implementing, and executing daily schedules and project plans to ensure all customer commitments are met on time, within budget, and to the quality standard DuraServ's customers expect
  • Review workload daily and manage manpower effectively — adjusting promptly to changing priorities without losing momentum on existing commitments
  • Oversee warehouse operations including equipment staging, stock parts ordering, purchase orders, and inventory management protocols alongside the Assistant Operations Manager – Field

Lead the Team

  • Provide direct daily supervision to Service Coordinators — assigning duties, evaluating performance, and driving continuous improvement through consistent coaching and feedback
  • Assist with oversight and management of subcontractors — conducting job site reviews, evaluating workmanship, and ensuring punch list completion to DuraServ's standard
  • Reinforce and enforce company policies and procedures across all departmental operations — your team's compliance reflects your leadership

Build for Growth

  • Support the Operations Manager in leading service department growth — including managing administrative functions and supporting the Technician Training Program
  • Develop your operational and leadership skills through direct exposure to every aspect of branch service operations — this role is designed as a development track, not a holding position

Who You Are

You don't wait to be told what needs attention. You see it, you address it, and you come back with a solution — not a status update.

  • Operationally minded — you think in schedules, priorities, and outcomes; you understand that a plan only matters if it gets executed
  • A natural supervisor — you've led or coordinated people before and you understand that accountability, consistency, and coaching are what build a reliable team
  • Adaptable under pressure — when priorities shift mid-day (and they will), you adjust without losing control of the commitments already in motion
  • Detail-oriented in the right places — warehouse inventory, equipment staging, purchase orders, and workmanship evaluations all reflect your attention to what matters
  • Physically capable — this role includes warehouse and field environments; frequent standing, bending, ladder use, and lifting up to 30 pounds are part of the job
  • Professionally ambitious — you see the AOM role as the path to OM, and you approach every day with the standard you want to be held to when you get there

What We're Looking For

Required

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, distribution, field service, or a related operational environment
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise or coordinate people — you've assigned work, evaluated performance, or coached a team in a professional setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 for scheduling, documentation, and operational reporting
  • Valid driver's license — field and warehouse presence are part of this role

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor's degree
  • Prior experience in the commercial dock and door, mechanical services, or industrial field service industry
  • Experience with warehouse management, inventory protocols, or subcontractor oversight
  • Background in technician scheduling, dispatch, or work order coordination

What's in It for You
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and 401K with company match
  • Company-provided life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Direct development path toward the Operations Manager role — this position is intentionally structured as a leadership track
  • Daily exposure to every aspect of branch service operations — scheduling, manpower, warehouse, subcontractors, training, and customer commitments
  • A supervisory role from day one — you'll lead Service Coordinators and build the leadership instincts that define an OM

A Note to the Right Candidate.

If you've been in an operational role where you were ready for more responsibility — where you were already doing the work of a leader without the title to match — this is your opportunity to make it official.

DuraServ's best Operations Managers came through this role. The branch depends on the AOM to keep the department running while helping build what it's growing into. That's not a small thing — that's exactly where operational leaders are made.

Engineering a framework of excellence. That's not aspirational here — it's the standard you'll learn, hold, and eventually lead.

APPLY NOW — Operational Leaders in the Making.

Hit Apply. Tell us what operation you've supported, what team you've led or coordinated, and where you want to go next.

Please note: This is NOT a remote or hybrid role. On-site presence at the branch is required.
