Special Education Life Skills Teacher and Case Manager

Title: Life Skills Special Education Teacher
Reports to: Building Principal
Terms of Employment: Full-Time/Up to 185 days
FLSA Classification: Exempt 


Qualifications  Certification/License: State Certification as a Special Education Teacher. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an education discipline applicable to teaching assignments, NH Educator Certification, or be eligible for a site-based learning plan demonstrated with a statement of eligibility.
Experience:  Successful prior special education teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred. 
Job Goals: The successful candidate will be able to maximize the learning experience for students with special needs in academics, interpersonal skills, and activities of daily living by implementing district-approved curriculum and the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Responsibilities include documenting teaching and student progress, tracking outcomes, addressing students' specific needs, and providing a safe and optimal learning environment. The role also requires the ability to case manage students, which involves communication with parents and guardians, writing IEPs, holding meetings, and meeting compliance deadlines.
