Job description

Our client is a growing manufacturing company seeking a highly organized Scheduling Manager to oversee production scheduling, inventory coordination, and workflow planning. This role is critical to ensuring products are manufactured efficiently, delivered on time, and meet quality standards while supporting continuous improvement across the production floor.

Position Summary

The Scheduling Manager is responsible for planning and coordinating production activities to ensure manufacturing operations run efficiently. This role works closely with production, inventory, purchasing, and shop management to prioritize work orders, maintain production schedules, and ensure materials and resources are available to meet customer delivery commitments.

The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing environment, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on customer orders and manufacturing capacity.

  • Coordinate with production and shop management to prioritize jobs and meet delivery deadlines.

  • Estimate material requirements, monitor inventory levels, and coordinate material purchasing when needed.

  • Track production progress and resolve scheduling issues to minimize delays.

  • Adjust production schedules as priorities change and communicate updates to internal teams.

  • Plan production using inventory minimum and maximum stock levels.

  • Release work orders, job tickets, and production drawings to the shop floor.

  • Pull and stage materials, kits, and components for manufacturing and assembly.

  • Monitor parts throughout the production process, including quality inspections, inventory, and shipping.

  • Close completed work orders and prepare production variance reports.

  • Maintain and update production task lists, due dates, and job status information.

  • Work with shop leadership to identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.

  • Continuously learn manufacturing processes and support additional operational projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Experience with production scheduling, planning, inventory control, or manufacturing coordination.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet production deadlines.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or ERP systems is a plus.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with inventory management and production planning.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing workflows and shop floor operations.
