Job description

Position Summary:
The Scheduling Specialist (SS) is responsible for daily scheduling functions of patients for Conway Medical Center. The SS is responsible for interacting with patients, and providers to gather information and will be responsible for scheduling appointments and appointments associated with referrals.   
 
Qualifications:
 
Education:
  • High school diploma required.  
 
Experience
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ previous experience working in an office environment required.
  • Previous experience working in Customer Experience required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year previous experience front desk operations in a physician’s office and/or experience in patient registration in an acute care facility preferred.
 
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • None
 
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities include updating patient demographic files, assures accurate information is entered in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), and maintains recall list.
  • Provide phone call management and answer multiple incoming telephone lines, screen and transfer calls, answer various questions, and obtain the necessary information to properly assist our callers. 
  • Schedule medical appointments associated with referrals, and book patient appointments within parameters of our physician scheduling templates, availability and preferences.
  • Will on occasion complete other duties as assigned beyond those designated in this primary job description which may include “float” coverage at an alternate facility, department, or assignment.
  • Provide exemplary core customer service.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
  • Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
  • Consistently display effective verbal communication skills.  
  • Proficient understanding and use of technology/PC skills required.
  • Regularly exercise independent judgement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by department leadership.
