The Primary Care Patient Care MA will partner with patients, providers, and other members of the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for all patients. Duties and responsibilities will be performed in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:

Medical Assistant

Full Time, 40 Hours/Week

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Columbia, Illinois

Qualifications:

*MA Certification Not Required

Primary Care Assistant - Medical Assistant:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Primary Care - Certified Medical Assistant:

Education: High School Diploma or GED.

Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities include:

Support primary care providers by coordinating patient care and ensuring a positive patient experience.
Room patients, obtain vitals, complete intake, medication reconciliation, and Epic documentation.
Perform inoffice testing, administer injections/vaccines, and assisted with procedures.
Support preventive care through screenings, care gap closure, referrals, and followup scheduling.
Assist with orders, prior authorizations, inventory, and general clinic operations.
