As a Scenic Design Intern, you can expect to assist with the creation of scenic models, drafting plans, sourcing materials, and helping with set construction and painting. You’ll often work closely with designers, technical directors, and other members of the production team, attending meetings and participating in the collaborative design process. Daily tasks may include research, rendering set concepts, and supporting the setup and breakdown of stage environments. The role offers hands-on experience with real productions, allowing you to see your contributions come to life and gain exposure to all aspects of scenic design. This practical involvement is an excellent stepping stone for building your portfolio and industry network.
